The Horses of Willow Creek Ranch

The Horses of Willow Creek Ranch

At Willow Creek Ranch, careful consideration is given to each horse’s temperament, gait, age, health, conformation, energy level, responsiveness, sensitivity, and level of training. These characteristics are thoughtfully matched to each person’s needs and the activities planned. Every horse is evaluated and trained specifically for the equine assisted therapy programs, ensuring they have the patience, personality, and suitable natural movement required to work safely and effectively with participants.

Our horses undergo a rigorous training and evaluation process that includes exposure to a wide range of equipment, sights, sounds, and movements that mirror real session experiences. Volunteers assist by riding and performing various movements to prepare the horses for therapeutic work. Caring for these exceptional horses costs more than $2,200 per horse each year for feed, bedding, veterinary care, and related expenses. We invite you to support their care with a tax-deductible donation to help us continue this important mission.
