Oliver came to Willow Creek Ranch on New Year’s Day in 2017, very sick and in need of rescue. While little is known about his past, he may have been a logging horse in northern Wisconsin and possibly a riding and driving horse at some point. His early experiences have made him cautious, observant, and highly perceptive of both humans and other horses. Trust must be earned with Oliver, and that careful approach has made him an exceptional partner in equine-facilitated psychotherapy and learning programs, supporting children and adults who have experienced trauma, abuse, depression, substance use, abandonment, and neglect.

Oliver now lives out his days at WCR, his forever home, where he continues to provide comfort, understanding, and healing to all those who know him.
