Takoda, Sioux for “friend to everyone,” truly lives up to his name. He arrived in Wisconsin in the fall of 2021 from a trail-riding program in Arkansas and was purchased by Willow Creek Ranch that December. While little is known about his past, Takoda’s personality tells us everything we need to know. He is curious, affectionate, and very much an “in-your-pocket” kind of horse, with a soft eye, a big heart, and a constant eagerness for attention.

One of the younger horses in the riding program, Takoda has become a valuable asset thanks to his smaller stature, which makes him especially well-suited for younger and smaller riders. Known for checking pockets for treats and happily following his favorite people wherever they go, Takoda brings joy and connection to everyone he meets.
