Dr Jennifer Lorenz, Advisory Council
Dr. Lorenz started her love of animals and especially horses at an early age. She finally convinced her parents to buy her a horse when she was 13 years old. She continued to peruse her love of animals and horses, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She then spent several years working for a small biotech company before being accepted to University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2009.
After veterinary school she spent time in Florida as an intern at an equine surgical facility. She then moved to Pennsylvania where she worked for 2 years as an equine ambulatory veterinarian. In 2013, Dr. Lorenz returned to Wisconsin and started Capital Equine. In 2013, she also completed certification in veterinary medical Acupuncture through Colorado Veterinary Medical Association (now known as CuraCore). In 2015, she then completed certification in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy (chiropractic). Because of her focus on acupuncture and VSMT she changed her practice name to Capital Performance Veterinary Services.
In addition to her veterinary practice Dr. Lorenz has served on the Wisconsin Equine Practitioners board, has help serve on the newly formed Wisconsin Horse Alliance Board as well as the School of Veterinary Medicine Alumni Board. She has also volunteered with many Wisconsin horse rescues and veterinary students to help provide services to rescue horses.
