Marty Hren has been a volunteer at Willow Creek Ranch since 2009 in the roles of side walker, horse leader, volunteer coordinator, trainer, equine specialist and teaching horsemanship classes. She is on the board of directors in various roles and currently holds the role of chairman. In addition, Marty works on many administrative and communication tasks in the role of Operations Administrator in support of the Executive Director and business of WCR.
At WCR, she has been involved with a variety of activities including program planning, providing lessons for special needs children and adults, new volunteer orientations, tours and introductions to WCR programs, horse training and horse care.
In 2015, she became a PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) and in 2024, an Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) facilitator. She is also certified by the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (Eagala) as an Equine Specialist, and recently trained for Horse Powered Reading.
Marty has a business administration degree from Marian University and has worked in multiple education and non-profit organizations.
